My Intro...
Hi!
As long as I can remember, I loved to write, although sometimes it got me into trouble. In second grade, I wrote an essay in response to a Winnie the Pooh story we read. Winnie got his hand stuck in a honey pot, and I grew annoyed at the plot. I mean, even as a seven-year-old I knew all he had to do was OPEN HIS DAMN HAND.
I followed up with “Winnie the Pooh gets lost in the forest”, where I killed off Winnie.
I wound up meeting with the school psychologist and counselor after that.
It obviously didn’t stop me from wanting to write, though I didn’t become serious about it until two non-related events in my life.
I enrolled at Rutgers to pursue a masters degree, and
My fiancée broke off our engagement.
My education led to lots of research and papers, and I fell in love with it. The end of my relationship led to me starting a blog, which caused me some embarrassment and trouble, but it kept my sanity as I tried to deal with depression and misery following that breakup.
And then I met Irish Spring.
1. Why this, why now
When I first met my wife, I continued to write as frequently as I had before, and maintained a daily log of her first pregnancy, but afterwards life got in the way. Since then, I’d occasionally offer my thoughts on various topics via social media, but they’re too infrequent and unorganized for me to cite. Last month my wife’s social media pages were hacked, and I thought I might want someplace to keep my posts safer, so here we are.
2. What kind of community are you looking to build here
In the coming months, I hope to write a least once a week, and develop from there. I have ideas on solutions for various things I encounter on a regular basis, and here’s where I’ll hash them out. I might also share personal anecdotes, or some other highlights.
3. Be specific
*I plan on posting once a week (usually on Thursday)
*I plan on sharing my thoughts about travel, politics, sports, education, history et al.
*I can retire in a year, but I’ll probably continue working for at least the next five. If I begin to write more afterwards, I might make other posts during the week for the paid subscribers, but for now it’s free.
*One of my goals as a writer was to get paid to publish. I know this isn’t the same, but my masters thesis was used for footnoting this event on Wikipedia. Once I retire I’d like to do more research on it, and maybe write a book.

So join me on this journey!

Looking forward to reading your thoughts!
